Lisa Sisk

Advertising and Public Relations Sequence

Lisa Sisk worked in the public relations field for more than 30 years, beginning in St. Louis with the local Manning, Selvage & Lee office, where she handled public relations and investor relations for clients ranging from non-profits to Fortune 100 companies. She also has worked for several non-profit organizations and in the corporate, government and public education sectors of communications and public relations.

In 2006 and 2009, USC's Mortar Board honor society awarded her its Excellence in Teaching Award.

She earned her bachelor's degree in communications from Lindenwood College in St. Charles, Mo., completed two years of graduate study in journalism at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and earned her Master of Arts degree in journalism from USC.

She teaches public relations campaigns and writing courses in the advertising/public relations sequence. She also teaches the graduate integrated communications campaigns class for Master of Mass Communication students, as well as the advertising and public relations components in the Camp Carolina program for incoming graduate students. She developed and co-teaches the Public Relations Experience in Atlanta class for May sessions. She joined the faculty of the School of Journalism and Mass Communications full time in 2005 after teaching as an adjunct since 2001.

Sisk has served on the boards of directors of Richland District Two Educational Foundation as president, the South Carolina chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators, the Media Club of Columbia and City Year Columbia. She is the former executive director of the Wildlife Coalition of the Midlands.
