Tom's work regularly appears in magazines across the South. In 1996,
he published "Deliver Me from Leviathan" in Reckon magazine,
a literary feature on the career and perspectives of James Dickey.
He has published more than 600 magazine features and has had four
books published. In 1989, the University of South Carolina Press
published his book, South Carolina: The Natural Heritage,
with a foreword by James Dickey. In 1994, the University of South
Carolina Press published South Carolina: A Timeless Journey.
The University of South Carolina Press published his third book, Reflections
Of South Carolina in October 1999, now in its second printing.
In 2005, Bookhouse Group published A Just & Noble Cause, which
chronicled the history of Worker's Compensation insurance in Georgia.
A new book on the blues and evolution of the shag dance culture
is forthcoming from the University of South Carolina Press in 2012.
Tom works as a full-time writer and author.
A Georgia native and University of Georgia graduate, he holds a bachelors
degree in journalism and a masters in media. |
