Patty Kornegay
Webmaster

Kornegay graduated in 1979 from King College in Bristol, Tenn., with a B.A. in history and political science. 

For five years, she was employed by Montreat College in Montreat, N.C., as assistant director of admissions.

In 1984, she joined the Price/McNabb Advertising Agency in Asheville, N.C., as an assistant account executive in their public relations division.  She worked on the accounts of the Asheville Tourism Society, McDonald's Tri-Cities Co-ops and the Biltmore Estate. 

Kornegay joined the staff of the Journalism School in 1996 as faculty assistant and Webmaster. She created the first Web site for the newly created College of Mass Communications and Information Studies in 2002. She designed and created the new Web site for the School of Journalism and Mass Communications in Nov. 2003, including the creative and graphic design for the home page iSITE feature articles.

Patty is married to Van Kornegay, an associate professor in the J-School and head of the visual communications sequence.  They have three children: Soren is a senior journalism major in the honors college at USC; daughter Sydney is a Belk Scholar in her freshman year at Davidson College in North Carolina; Dylan is spending her senior year in high school as a Rotary Exchange student in Chilecito, Argentina.
