Rick Peterson
Instructor
Electronic and Print Journalism Sequence

M.S., Northwestern University

Peterson is co-director of the "Carolina News" television program, which is seen on Time Warner Cable channel 12 in northeast Columbia. The program is produced by seniors in the electronic journalism senior semester class. He also teaches other broadcast news related courses. He joined the School faculty in 1997.

In addition to this work at USC, Rick is a freelance writer for NBC News Channel in Charlotte, North Carolina. He has worked as an associate producer for All News Channel in Minneapolis; a reporter for KOTV and KJRH in Tulsa; and an anchor/reporter for KODE in Joplin, Missouri.

Rick has been nominated for two regional Emmy awards and has won awards from United Press International and the Society of Professional Journalists.
