Hugh Munn retired in 2002 after 26 years service as Chief
Spokesman for the South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division
(SLED) and has served on the adjunct faculty for more than
five years.
Munn previously taught Newswriting and has been a guest
lecturer in a variety of journalism courses at USC and for
Sam Houston State University.
Munn is a former police academy lecturer in media relations
and currently conducts Crisis Media Relations seminars around
the country for corporations, organizations and agencies.
He earned a BA degree in Broadcast Journalism in 1970 from
USC's School of Journalism and Mass Communications and a
Masters degree in Criminal Justice in 1990, also from the
University of South Carolina.
Munn is a consultant for the U.S. Justice Department's Office
of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention and for DOJ's
Office of Victims of Crime. He also serves as a consultant
for the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
