Richard C. (Dick) Moore joined the USC faculty in August
2006.
As a prelude to college teaching, Moore worked for more
than 35 years in broadcast news as a writer, producer and
manager. His most recent professional position was vice president
of news for WKYC-TV in Cleveland.
Moore's previous experience
includes news director positions at WSB-TV in Atlanta, WSOC-TV
in Charlotte, WCPX-TV in Orlando and WXII-TV in Winston-Salem.
He has also pioneered convergent news operations within the
Philadelphia Inquirer and USA TODAY.
Moore has served on
several national boards and was president of the Radio-Television
News Directors Association of the Carolinas. He and his staffs
have won numerous national and regional awards and he personally
has been awarded four Emmy’s for excellence in newscast
and story production.
Moore earned a Master's in Journalism
as a Kiplinger Fellow at The Ohio State University. He
is part of the teaching team for broadcast senior semester
in the print and electronic journalism sequence.
