Catherine Rigg Monetti

Cathy Monetti serves as president and creative director of RIGGS, a Columbia advertising agency that represents industrial, healthcare, banking, hospitality, business-to-business and retail clients. Under her leadership, the agency’s work has been recognized for excellence in every medium throughout a wide array of industry and client-related award competitions, including a number of regional and national Best of Show designations. She is also co-founder of the national CreateAThon network, a small agency partnership that has donated more than $8 million in marketing and advertising services to non-profits in North America in the past ten years.
Cathy has been a key figure in the Columbia advertising community for the past 20 years. She is a past president of the Columbia Advertising Club; past president of the Columbia Communicating Arts Society; and a member of the American Advertising Federation. Cathy has served on the board of trustees of EdVenture Children’s Museum for seven years, as chairman in 2006/2007; member of the board of directors of the Central Carolina Community Foundation; chairman of the board of Rigg Properties, Inc., of Wise, Va.; member of the business advisory board of the University of Virginia at Wise; and has served on the board of directors of the Clemson University Second Century Society.
In February of 2005, the Columbia Advertising Club presented its top honor, the prestigious Silver Medal Award, to Ms. Monetti “in recognition of outstanding contributions to advertising and furthering the industry's standards, creative excellence and responsibility in areas of social concern.” The agency was honored with the 2003 Outstanding Philanthropic Corporation Award presented by the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
She is a graduate of the VCU AdCenter Executive Education Program “Advanced Management for Creative Directors” and the “Executive Seminar in Communication Skills“ at the Buckley School of Public Speaking, where she was awarded the Silver Medal in debate. |
