Organization Description:
The Crescent Group is a full-service public relations firm,
which specializes in public affairs, government relations,
and strategic communication. Our firm utilizes public relations,
marketing, advertising, media relations, and special events
functions to help our clients enhance their presence in the
community.
Mike Campbell founded The Crescent Group out of his desire
to give beneficial advice to people who want to make a difference.
We help good people seek public office through campaign strategies,
which incorporate grassroots mobilization and political communications.
We help businesses succeed by utilizing our knowledge of
community relations and public affairs, as well as advertising
and marketing. The Crescent Group is dedicated to using our
skills to pave the way for those who share our vision of
a better, stronger community.
The Crescent Group represents an array of clients including
Republican campaigns, Conservative watchdog groups, Non profits,
and area businesses.
Requirements:
At The Crescent Group we work as a team in which every member
is essential. We have some requirements for our interns,
including: flexibility and a good nature, strong research
and writing skills, ability to take direction and work independently,
proficient computer skills, and above all, an interest in
government and commitment to building a better community.
Scheduling:
We want to meet your needs as well, therefore; our
internship program is created around class schedules.
Responsibilities:
At The Crescent Group, since our job description is expansive,
we can extend a wide range of opportunity to our interns.
Intern responsibilities can be tailored to the specific needs
of the individual student and the type of experience he/she
hopes to gain. Tasks cover a broad range of responsibilities,
including but not limited to: assisting in Web site updates
and maintenance, drafting press releases, writing opinion
editorials, compiling newsletters, assisting with marketing
a campaign strategy development, developing and updating
candidate databases, producing media materials, creating
promotional and campaign items, and developing action plans
for public relations, marketing, and political campaigns. Interns
can also have duties in areas such as developing campaign
strategies, mobilization techniques, event planning, and
assisting with media events, and, even drafting internship
descriptions or recruiting like-minded friends to intern
as well!
Compensation:
Class credit of up to 6 credit hours is available.
