We are currently accepting applications for our six-month,
paid
internship for Spring 2007 (January - June). From writing
and special
event support to photo/video shoots and research, the Media
Relations
Professional Internship gives students an in-depth and hands-on
opportunity to develop important skills for the future in
a fast-paced
environment that is uniquely Disney.
Walt Disney World Media Relations is responsible for developing
productive relationships with local, national and international
media;
issues management; third-party relationship building; and
promoting
important company initiatives in such areas as community
relations,
diversity, employee relations, safety, business practices
and
conservation initiatives

Job Description
- Gain real-world experience during a six-month, paid internship
with the
Walt Disney World Media Relations team. Responsibilities
include but are
not limited to:
- Media relations, including
updating media lists; writing press
releases, media alerts and other media materials; assisting
with the
production of video news releases; hosting media in Walt
Disney World
parks and resorts; and proactively generating publicity
opportunities to
highlight key company initiatives
- Special event support, such
as assisting with the creation of
invitation lists; making follow-up calls; assisting with
the development
of collateral materials; assisting with logistics; and
managing photo/video shoots
- Assisting with Walt Disney
World's e-newsletter, MouseMail
- Research projects, such as
media analysis and issue-related
research
- Some administrative work
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
(These are the minimum qualifications
you need
to be considered for the job.)
- Current College Junior or Senior
- Currently earning a college/university degree in Journalism,
Public
Relations, Communications or related major
- Demonstrated strong writing experience
- Proven ability to do research and write reports
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Disney College Program Alumni
- Previous internship experience in one or more of the
following areas:
public affairs; a print, television or online newsroom;
public relations; government relations
- Bi-lingual capabilities
