Chapter of SPJ named most outstanding in region
The Society of Professional
Journalists Campus Chapter at the University
of South Carolina was named Outstanding Campus Chapter of Region
3 at
the SPJ National Convention and Journalism Conference in Chicago
on Aug.
25.
Chapter President Taylor Smith and Vice President Brian
Davis were
delegates to the convention, who along with Immediate Past
President
Graeme Moore accepted the citation for the chapter. The citation
was
awarded "in recognition of outstanding programs and
activities that
enhance professionalism, thereby contributing service to
the Society and
to the profession."
Region 3 comprises 16 campus chapters in Alabama, Florida,
Georgia and
South Carolina. One chapter in each of SPJ's 12 regions received
the
distinction as outstanding campus chapter.
