SAF announces winners in student advertising competition
The Student Advertising Federation (SAF) announced the winners
of the the 8th Annual J. Jerome Jewler Student Ad Awards
at a reception on April 25.
Senior Alex Grinton won Best of Show and the $500 grand
prize for his U.S. Health and Human Services Protect Yourself
campaign. This campaign had previously won a silver ADDY
from the Columbia Ad Club.
In addition to the Best of Show, Grinton
took home a Gold Award for his outdoor advertising campaign
for Monterrey's.

Senior Alexis Bass won two Gold Awards for campaigns for
Burt's Bees and the ASPCA. Burt's Bees also won a Gold Addy
from the Columbia Ad Club in February.
Other Silver Award winners and their campaigns were:
Ashanti Huey - Panasonic
Sarah Conlin - Swiss Army Knife
E. B. Davis and Alex Grinton - Q-Tips
Joe Murray - American Cancer Society
Judges for the 2006 competition were A. Jerome Jewler; Brian
Rish, freelancer; Lori Gardner, Mad Monkey; and Melissa Young,
Chernoff-Newman.
The annual competition is sponsored by the Student Advertising
Federation, the local student chapter of the American Advertising
Federation, and endowed by Professor Bonnie Drewniany in
honor of Distinguished Professor Emeritus Jewler.
