Jackson
elected to IABC executive board
Pat Jackson has been elected to the executive board of the
International
Association of Business Communicators (IABC) in Los Angeles,
California. IABC is an organization of more than 13,000 business
communicators worldwide.
Jackson, director of Continuing
Education and Special Events at the USC School of Journalism
and Mass Communications, will serve as director of IABC’s
District 2, which includes South Carolina, Arkansas, Mississippi,
Birmingham, Jacksonville, Tampa/St. Petersburg, Memphis, Nashville,
Central Florida, Atlanta, New Orleans, Charlotte and the North
Carolina Triangle.
Jackson, who is a past president of the South Carolina IABC
chapter, has organized and conducted media training for thousands
of mid-career professionals during the past 15 years. As communications
training consultant and meeting planner, she has conducted
hundreds of workshops for government and business clients
from all over the world.
She was awarded the 2003 Southern Interscholastic Press
Association’s Distinguished Service award for her contributions
to the state, regional and and national scholastic press associations.
A native of Winston-Salem, N.C., she is married to Bill
Jackson. They live in Columbia and have two children and two
grandchildren. |
