SAF announces winners
in student advertising competition
The Student Advertising Federation (SAF) held the
J. Jerome Jewler Student Ad Show on April
29. The annual competition, now in its tenth year, is endowed
by Advertising Professor Bonnie Drewniany in honor of Distinguished
Professor Emeritus Jewler.
This year the competition included a new category, the Lewis
Brierley Design Award. Brierley, a former graphics professor
at the J-School, passed away April 16, 2008. Faculty and
staff created the award to honor his life and the impact

Judges for the 2008 competition were three graduates of
the J-School: Andrew Evans, copywriter for The Adams Group;
Brian Rish, freelance producer; and Alanna Ritchie, advertising
director for the South Carolina Newspaper network.
