William Goodrich died Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2006.

Mr. Goodrich moved to The Villages in 2005. He was a pilot of his private plane, flying both within the U.S. and internationally; a TV director for NBC in Chicago; an advertising vice president of Tathum, Laird and Kudner; a professor of advertising at Northern Illinois University; associate dean and professor emeritus of journalism at the University of South Carolina; founding member of the Second Stringer; founder and member of The Villages Folk Singers; and an avid golfer.
Survivors include his wife, Norma L.; daughters Kimberly Wylie, Boyd, Texas, Courtney Hiland, Dekalb, Ill.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and brother, Robert D. Goodrich, Port Orange.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, at Beyers Funeral Home in Lady Lake, with funeral services following at 11 a.m. William Goodrich, Mr. Goodrich's nephew, will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Villagers for Hospice, 601 Casa Bella, The Villages, FL 32162.

Beyers Funeral Home, Lady Lake, is in charge of arrangements.
