Bowman
new development director for College Kim Bowman joined the
College of Mass Communications and Information Studies this fall
as the new director of development.
Bowman
comes from a successful venture at EdVenture where, as Vice President
for Marketing, she helped launch the Columbia children’s
museum last year. Now, as part of the College’s development
team, she will head fund raising for the College and School of
Journalism, helping lead a drive that would allow the College
to relocate to a renovated facility at the heart of the Columbia
campus. "Moving the College
to a new and more suitable location is long overdue; ask any
of the alumni. Besides, a top-notch journalism
school deserves a top-notch address as well as a newfound infusion
of spirit and pride," said Bowman. "I couldn't be more
excited or honored to play a role in this challenging endeavor." Bowman succeeds Randy Covington who this summer became director
of the Ifra Newsplex, the College's multimedia news laboratory
