The 1980's
1980
Dlinn, Andrew: MMC, has launched his own financial services
firm, Hayden Stone & Co. LLC in Pittsburgh, Pa. As president
and chief financial officer, Dlinn specializes in “strategic
wealth management” and has been a successful portfolio manager
for over 12 years. He credits his journalism/business degree with
providing the background necessary for highly effective public relations
and marketing campaigns which have catapulted his career. He also
is a retired well-known Navy Reserve public affairs officer having
served over 20 years in “every time-zone in the world”.
Kennerly, Susan
Dukes: BA, is the administrative assistant at The
Okonite Company in Orangeburg, S.C. After twelve years in
the advertising
business, three in advertising sales and nine in retail creative,
Susan made a career change and has been working for Okonite
for
the past nine years. Okonite is a manufacturer of medium and high
voltage electric cable.
Stewart, Robert:
MA, is serving as director for American Express Canada in Newmarket,
Ontario.
1981

Daniel: BA,
is serving as vice president for Evening Post Community Publications
Group.
1983
Campbell, Reba Hull: BA, Public Relations, has been presented
the David J. Brugger Grassroots Advocacy Award. The Brugger Advocacy
Award honors an individual or group within public broadcasting
that
has shown exemplary leadership in mobilizing grassroots support
for public television’s legislative goals. John Lawson,
President and CEO of the Association of Public Television Stations
said: “This
award recognizes individuals who lead grassroots advocacy efforts
of public television’s supporters – volunteers,
members, community leaders – whose only vested interest
in public television is their time and personal commitment.” Campbell
has a new job, too – executive director of the Governor’s
School for Math and Science in Hartsville, S.C. She resides
in Columbia.
1984
Hager, Eric: BA, is a sports photographer
for WSB-TV in Atlanta, Ga.
1986
Dangerfield, Rose: BA, has been appointed to director of
development and donor services at Central Carolina Community Foundation.
Dangerfield is a native Columbian, having spent the past 12 years
with The Gillespie Agency, an advertising, public relations and
media firm. During this time, she served as vice president.
DiPaolo, Peter:
BA, is working as project manager for Seaward Services Inc. in
Key West, Fla. Following retirement from the Navy in 1988,
Peter, an
advertising/public relations major, worked as the Site Administrator
for Troy State University at their Key West campus for one
year.
His next assignment was as an area manager for Wal-Mart’s
Logistics Division in Brookhaven, MS. After nearly five years
there,
DiPaolo returned to the Florida Keys. He is currently responsible
for establishing, staffing, and providing all personnel and logistics
support for the Navy’s port operations facility at the Naval
Air Station.
Talley, Steven:
BA, personnel/manpower
advisor in the Office of the Assistant to the Chairman of the
Joint
Chiefs of Staff, at the Pentagon, has been promoted to Lt. Colonel,
United State Air Force. Lt. Col. Talley also recently celebrated
his 18 year anniversary with his wife Jackie. They are the parents
of Steven Jr., Kevin, Jade, and Kristina.
1988
Breen, Richard: BA, is the business editor at the Greenville
Journal.
Foley, Adrienne
Greer: BA, Advertising, has been named president of the
Tennessee Society of Healthcare Marketing and Public Relations for
2004. Since 1999, Adrienne has worked in account management for
the healthcare segment of Daniel+Douglas+Norcross, a marketing and
consulting firm based in Chattanooga, Tenn.
Jones, Jr.,
Robert: BA, Broadcast, has been named the executive
director of the Tri-County Regional Chamber of Commerce.
He will manage the
daily operations of the Chamber, which has offices in St. George
and Holly Hill, S.C. Previously, he worked for the American
Red Cross,
Carolina Lowcountry Chapter in Charleston as director of public
relations. He is also a member of the Board of Directors
of Dorchester
County Communities in Schools.
1989
Quinn, Susan: BA, is an attorney in private practice in
Columbia, S.C. She is also a certified family and civil court mediator
and certified civil arbitrator. |
