1972
Cramer, Judy Taylor:
BA, a split-shift copyeditor in Business and Features at the Los Angeles Times, has been named an assistant copy chief for Features. Judy also won first place in Division A, Hard News, in the American Copy Editors Society’s 2002 National Headline Contest.


1974
Pigg, Jane Davis:
BA, is president of Pee Dee Broadcasting LLC. She recently purchased WCRE Radio in Cheraw, S.C. WCRE was named South Carolina’s Radio Station of the Year by the South Carolina Broadcaster’s Association.


1975
Stewart, Richard:
MA, owner and publisher of Kenly News and The Selma News in North Carolina, has been named assistant professor of journalism at Barton College in Wilson, N.C.


1976
DeBruhl, Teri:
BA, has joined the staff at USC’s College of Education in the Office of Instructional Support as program coordinator. He works with faculty and students to meet technology demands in teaching and in producing products.

Dreyfus, Nancy Friedman: BA, has been promoted from copy supervisor to group copy supervisor at Integrated Communications in Parsippany, N.J. She has been a professional writer for more than 30 years, first working in the field of journalism, then public relations, and most recently in advertising.

Whitaker, Lois: BA, 1979, MA, is a professor of political science at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro. She was invited to attend the spring session of the Oxford Round Table, held at Lincoln College in the University of Oxford. She presented a paper, “Virginia Foster Durr: An Analysis of One Woman’s Contributions to the Civil Rights Movement in the South.”

Woods, Lloyd:
BA, is the general manager/editor of the Sandy Post in Sandy, Ore. He works for J. Mark Garber, a ’77 graduate, who is the vice president of Community Newspapers and publisher of The Gresham Outlook and Sandy Post.
