BATEMAN TEAM JUDGED TOPS IN THE NATION--AGAIN!
A student public relations team from the University of South
Carolina School of Journalism and Mass Communications was
selected best in the nation Friday in Detroit.
It was USC's second victory in three years in the competition
sponsored by the Public Relations Student Society of America.
A second USC team placed third behind Loyola of New Orleans.

Beth Dickey served as the teams' faculty advisor and Jeffrey
Ranta was the professional advisor.
"I'm so excited at the caliber of the work the students
produced and our sending two teams to the finals is unprecedented
in the 31-year history of the contest, said Shirley Staples
Carter, Director of the School.
This was the first time ever that one school placed two
teams into the finals of the competition, which drew 62 teams
from colleges and universities across the nation.
