TECHNOLOGY RECOMMENDATIONS

In theory, the School of Journalism and Mass Communications is a multi-platform environment that supports both Macintosh and Windows.   In practice, we are predominantly a Macintosh environment.   

All of our introductory writing and graphic labs are Macintosh labs.  However, for most computing functions such as word processing and presentation software, we use Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint), which functions pretty much the same on both platforms, and these files are easily shared between Macintosh and Windows machines.

However, for students interested in visual communications, we strongly recommend the Macintosh operating system.
