How do I determine my GPA?
Divide the total number of semester grade points earned
by the total number of semester hours attempted for credit.

What do I need to do if I am missing
classes due to either a documented illness or family
emergency?
Contact the Office of Vice President for Student and Alumni
Affairs at (803) 777-4172.
When do I apply for graduation?
For fall and spring graduation you will need to apply
within the first three weeks of the semester. For summer
graduation you will need to apply within the first 10 days
of the first summer session.
To apply to graduate, you must be currently enrolled in
ALL classes needed to complete your degree.
How do I apply for graduation?
You will need to get a graduation application from either
the Registrar's Office or the Student Services Office (4001
Coliseum). Once you have completed the application, bring
the completed application to the Student Services Office
for the Director's signature. It is the student's responsibility
to return the signed application form to the Registrar's
Office.
What do I need to have to graduate
with honors?
The Registrar's Office, not the Dean's Office, declares
all honors.
- Summa Cum Laude: a cumulative GPA of 4.000
- Magna Cum Laude: a cumulative GPA of 3.750-3.999
- Cum Laude: a cumulative GPA of 3.5-3.749
What is Academic Probation?
Students entering the University before Fall
2005:
Probation is when the USC and Collegiate GPA’s
are less than a 2.25. Student may continue in the college
on
a probationary status, but may not take Upper Division
course work (defined as 500-level JOUR courses).
Students entering the University Fall 2005
and after:
Probation is when the USC and Collegiate GPA’s
are less than a 2.50. Students will be permitted to remain
in
the School while on probation for only one semester after
which the student will be administratively removed from
the School.
How do I get into Upper Division?
Students entering the University before Fall
2005:
Completion of Jour 201 and Jour 202; a minimum USC and
Collegiate GPA or 2.25; completion of 60 or more semester
hours of degree-acceptable
credit; completion of any required foreign language course;
formal selection and approval of a minor.
Students entering the University Fall 2005
and after:
Completion of Jour 201 and Jour 202; a minimum USC and
Collegiate GPA of 2.50; completion of 60 or more semester
hours of degree-acceptable
credit; completion of any required foreign language
course; formal selection and approval of a minor.
How do I get a parking pass for evening classes in the Coliseum?
Take your schedule to the parking office and have
them validate your schedule. Parking is located at 1501
Pendleton Street.
