THE BATEMAN TEAM
The Bateman Case Study Competition offers an exciting, unique
and challenging experience. This competition allows participants
to exercise creativity and originality in planning their
campaign.
Champions in 2002 and 2004, the University of South
Carolina returned to its old winning habits and won both
awards for the 2006 Competition. (Read
more and see samples of the winning work.) (In
2003, a team from USC won honorable mention in this competition. In
2002, the USC team won first place in the nation, and a second
team was in the top 10. In 2004, the USC team again won first
place in the national competition, and a second team placed
third.) (Read about our first
and third place national winning teams.)

What are the Bateman Team benefits?
A great piece of work to show and experience to relay to a prospective
employer
Three hours of credit (JOUR 568)
A better understanding of who you are, what skills youre best at,
and how you work under pressure.
Who are the members of the team?
Most students selected for the team are Public Relations seniors who have demonstrated
excellence in their class work and in their professional development. We
also try to select at least one outstanding junior to be on each team. National
competition rules require all members of the team to join the Public Relations
Student Society of America (PRSSA).
How is the team chosen?
Advertising and Public Relations faculty and Bateman advisers selects the team
based upon the application, quality of student work from prior semesters,
recommendations, and specific needs for a well-rounded team. Four to five
students will be selected for each team.
