Faculty in the School of Journalism and Mass Communications are
committed to scholarship in the field. We are particularly
strong in health/science/risk communications, history, new media
technologies and communication law. The University has begun
a number of interdisciplinary research initiatives, and many of our
faculty work across disciplines inside and outside the School.
In both quantity and quality the professional and academic faculty
have made great strides in producing significant scholarship. Consistent
with our role as a Carnegie Foundation-designated doctoral university
with “very
high research activity,” School of Journalism and Mass Communications
faculty are involved in a broad range of research projects with funding
from sources including the National Science Foundation, the U.S.
Department of Education, the U.S. Department of State and Health
Sciences South Carolina. |
