AAJA National Scholarships
Each year, AAJA offers scholarships to outstanding high
school seniors and undergraduate and graduate students.
Since its inception, AAJA has awarded more than $1 Million
in scholarships and internships to more than 500 students
pursuing a career in journalism.
Applicants must be a graduating high school senior,
undergraduate, or graduate student enrolled full-time
with at least 12 credit units for the fall 2006 and spring
2007 school year. Applicants must be currently taking
or planning to take journalism courses and/or pursuing
journalism as a career.
Candidates will be selected on the basis of academic
achievement, demonstrated journalistic ability, financial
need, commitment to the field of journalism and sensitivity
to Asian American and Pacific Islander issues as demonstrated
by community involvement. Individual scholarships may
weigh criteria differently and/or take into account other
factors.

National Association of Black Journalists
Scholarships
Annually, NABJ awards deserving students interested
in pursuing a career in journalism awards of more than
$30,000 in NABJ scholarships. Each scholarship is worth
up to $5,000. Scholarships are open to any foreign or
American born students, currently attending an accredited
four-year college/university in the U.S. or those who
are candidates for graduate school.

SC Broadcasters Association
Scholarships
Scholarships are now available to SJMC students
for the 2006-2007 school year from the South Carolina
Broadcasters Association. Six $2,000 scholarships
will be awarded to broadcast majors, two to rising
sophomores, two to rising juniors and two to rising
seniors or graduate students.
