
FINANCIAL AID, TUITION AND FEES
Financial Aid
Graduate assistantships may be available on a limited basis each
year through the School. Stipends for assistants currently range
from $1,625 to $3,250 per semester for master's students, $4,250
to $8,500 per semester for doctoral students. Students holding graduate
assistantships receive resident-status tuition rates.
Students can also apply for financial aid through the University’s Office
of Student Financial Aid.
Cost of Study
Effective Fall 2004, new graduate students in the School of Journalism
and Mass Communications will be charged a one-time Enhancement Fee
of $700. This fee is used to enhance graduate education in the School
by providing computers, software, journals and periodicals appropriate
to graduate education, to offset travel expenses to conferences where
academic papers have been accepted for presentation, and other expenses
related to graduate education.
The University’s tuition structure is based upon credit hours.

Health Insurance
Effective Fall 2004, graduate students enrolled in nine (9) hours
or more, all students classified as graduate teaching or research
assistants, and international students will be required to have health
insurance coverage as a condition of enrollment.

hard-waiver forms proving that you are medically insured, you will
automatically be enrolled in the student insurance plan and charged
accordingly.
