Continuing Education Opportunities
Media Training

The USC School of Journalism and Mass Communications Continuing Education Opportunities Department provides media training to private, non-profit, and government agencies.

We conduct educational seminars in print and broadcast journalism, advertising, and public relations. The workshops are customized to address the media needs of a variety of organizations.

Faculty from our accredited journalism program and skilled professionals lead the training sessions which are held in state-of-the-art facilities at the School of Journalism and Mass Communications.

Facilities

Smart Classroom
The classroom is equipped with a digital overhead projector, DVD and VCR playback, and a computer with Internet access and industry standard applications such as MS Office. All of these devices output to an LCD projector and are viewed on a 6’ x 8’ screen. Other features include wireless microphone, dry erase board and conference podium. Video recording of presentations is also available.

TV Studio
The fully functioning television studio serves as the broadcast location for the Carolina News, a student-produced news show, and contains all the features, capabilities and technology of a news station.

Computer Labs
Three Internet-equipped computer clusters, each furnished with 20 Macintosh OS-X computers, are available for use. Technical support personnel are on hand to offer assistance.

Print Newsroom
The publications center for the student-produced Carolina Reporter, the newsroom has its own conference table and computer cluster with industry standard publications software.
